About Medhavi Skills University
MSU is a government notified and UGC, DGT & NSDC recognized Skills University of North East India, which has been established with the passage of the Medhavi Skills University Act 2021 by the Sikkim State Government. MSU is promoted by a group of IIT / IIM Alumni with a vision to bring convergence of the skilling ecosystem with the higher education tracks by promoting in-demand Skill Integrated Higher Education linked to Employability and career progression. MSU is the first of its kind pioneering university model where corporates/ industries are the stakeholders and influencers in curriculum design, programme delivery and for providing practical skills training via on-the-job training opportunities.
Role Overview
The Accountant will assist with financial data entry, account reconciliations, and basic financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their accounting career and eager to learn from experienced professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software and update the general ledger.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and documents.
- Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments in a timely manner.
- Assist with customer invoicing, processing payments, and tracking outstanding balances.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and assist in reconciling other accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and basic financial reports.
- Assist in preparing trial balances and preliminary financial statements.
- Help prepare supporting documentation for audits and ensure that records are compliant with company policies.
- Ensure that all transactions comply with financial regulations and company policies.
- Assist with other tasks as needed, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as directed by senior accounting staff.
